Whole Wheat Hamburger Buns (Rolls)
Ingredients
- 1½ cups hot water
- ¼ cup coconut or olive oil
- ¼ cup honey
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 1 Tbsp vinegar
- 2 Tbsp gluten
- 4½ cups whole wheat flour (minus 2 Tbsp)
- 2 tsp instant yeast
Instructions
- Put water, oil, honey, salt and vinegar in mixer
- Add half of the flour
- Put gluten and yeast on top
- Add other flour until dough pulls away from sides of bowl.
- Knead on low for 6 minutes.
- Divide dough in half, divide in half again, etc. until you have 16 balls of the same size.
- Place the balls on a large greased cookie sheet.
- Place another empty cookie sheet on top to kind of smash the dough slightly and force the rising to go sideways making a bun shape.
- Let rise until double.
- Bake at 375°F for 15 – 20 minutes.
- Rolls will be deeply golden and oh so yummy.
